to the WAPC General Assembly

Dear Members,
Following the legal establishment of World Association of Press Councils in October 2006, we have opened an account at a Turkish bank called Türkiye Ýþ Bankasý in Istanbul (with the number 1151 290 493 at Yeniköy Branch).
From the pre-legal establishment period (means before June 2006) we had no money of WAPC.
In fact just to be precise, we owe 1 dollar to Mr.Chris Conybeare for his expenses of his trip to African countries in year 2006 to explain and promote the cause of WAPC and to try to enhance the freedom of expression.
After the establishment formalities of WAPC have been completed in October 2006, we opened the above mentioned account. Since then:

WAPC EXECUTIVE MEETING
26-28 MARCH 2010
NICOSIA, TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTHERN CYPRUS
Dear Executive Committee Members,
As of 25 March 2010, we have $2,964 (two thousand nine hundred sixty four) US Dollars in the WORLD ASSOCIATION OF PRESS COUNCILS account at the Türkiye Ýþ Bankasý in Ýstanbul, Turkey (IBAN TR86 4000 0021 1510 2904 93).
As posted on our website (www.wapconline.org), the only transaction during the year 2010 is the Turkish Press Council’s annual fee for 2010. Due to a mistake, 99 US Dollars has been deposited instead of 100 US Dollars.
In our previous report dated 9 July 2009, the sum of our account was 1,765 (one thousand seven hundred sixty five) US Dollars. Since then:
* The Press Council of Nepal has deposited 200 US Dollars as 2008 and 2009 annual fees.
* The Media Council of Tanzania has made a donation of 300 US Dollars and has paid 200 US Dollars as 2008 and 2009 annual fees.
* The Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe has deposited 200 US Dollars as annual fees for 2008 and 2009.
* The Press Council of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has deposited 300 Turkish Liras (equivalent to 200 US Dollars) as annual fees for 2008 and 2009.
Due to these contributions our bank account has reached 2,865 US Dollars as of 1 January 2010.
As explained above, the World Association of Press Councils now has 2,964 US Dollars at the Türkiye Ýþ Bankasý Yeniköy Branch, Ýstanbul-Turkey.
We have not made any payment since the last meeting of WAPC on 9 July 2009 in Ýstanbul.

Dear E.C. Members,
In the account of WORLD ASSOCIATION OF PRESS COUNCILS at the Türkiye Ýþ Bankasý in Ýstanbul (IBAN TR86 4000 0021 1510 2904 93), we have 597.34 US$ (Five hundred ninety-seven US Dollars and thirty-four cents) as of 17 October 2010.
In the last Treasurer’s Report of 25 March 2010, it was stated that, at that time, we had 2964.00 (Two thousand nine hundred sixty four) US$ at the bank.
Since than our account transactions are as below:
ü On 29 March 2010 Media Council of Tanzania paid 200.-US$ as annual fee for year 2010.
ü On 9 April 2010 Press Council of India paid 100.-US$ as annual fee for year 2010.
ü On 16 April 2010 Turkish Press Council paid an additional 401-US as annual fee 500.- Dollars (99+401=500) for year 2010.
ü This brought our account to 3664.- US$ as of 16 April 2010.
ü From the above amount 15.17 US$ has been deducted as service fee by the bank.
ü From that amount we paid 1200.- US$ as subsidy for the air ticket of the representative of Media Council Kenya for Nairobi-Katmandu-Nairobi flight.
ü Also we paid 1200.-US$ for the air ticket of the representative of Media Council of Malawi for Lilongwe-Katmandu-Lilongwe flight.
ü We drew 600.-US$ on 14 October 2010 and Media Council of Hawai donated 600.-US$ to be handed over in cash to the representative of Media Council of Tanzania when he arrives at Katmandu as air ticket subsidy for Daar Es Salam (Tanzania)-Katmandu-Daar Es Salam flight.
ü Bank charged us 52.49 US$ as service fee because of the above transactions.
As it has been explained above World Association of Press Councils has 597.34 (Five hundred ninety-seven US$ and thirty-four cents) at our bank account as of 17 October 2010.
