Born on February 5, 1957, Kajubi Diocles Mukajanga is the current Executive Secretary (ES) of the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT).
A graduate in sociology, Mukajanga has attended six different courses in journalism, including a one year Gordon N. Fisher Fellowship in Journalism at the University of Toronto (1996-97).
He has for more than a decade practiced as a reporter, editor and trainer at various schools of journalism and across twenty three Press Clubs of Tanzania.
Kajubi has for years been on the many sides of the media industry: From a newspapers’ correspondent, books’ author, media consultant, media investor all the way to chairing several media organizations in Tanzania and coordinator of the Panos Eastern Africa on Governance and Globalization Programme, to mention a few.
His latest consulting accomplishment before becoming MCT’s boss was the preparation of Tanzania Media Fund (TMF) Document in 2007. TMF, a grant making organization for supporting investigative and public journalism, has since become operational.
His main areas of competencies include programme design, strategic management, planning and budgeting, editorial and journalistic skills, media training, project proposal development, communication strategies, policy analysis, lobbying and advocacy, social research, event planning and management as well as report writing.
Mukajanga is married with four children.
